Thank you so much for ‘taking time out’ to read my new blog. My name is Kate, I am 44yrs old (eek!) and I am married with 2 children and 2 stepchildren. I live in our converted bungalow in Kent, where I usually have some project or another on the go. I’m finding this time of my life incredibly exciting and would love it if you came along on the journey with me.
I am finally starting to live as the person that I really am, not the person I had become through lifes experiences and disappointments. It has been a journey, and quite a long one at that, to find out who I really am. It may seem odd, but it’s easy to say I am the daughter of, the wife of or the mother of, (and equally the son of, the husband of or the father of, don’t want to leave you men out!) but none of those things make you the actual person that you are, who you were created to be and what your purpose in life is. That is, outside of the amazingly important roles we play in the lives of the people that we love and who love us. We all have a purpose and a destiny and we need to know who we are to start living out that destiny. When I was younger and even up to a few years ago, if people said “you’re very creative” I would panic and say”no not at all!” I think inside I was scared to say I was in case people then expected something of me that I couldn’t live up to or that I would disappoint, in other words, fear of failure. I have, through lots of encouragement from friends and family realised that I am creative and I don’t have to do or prove anything. I am free to be, as are all of you. I want to encourage you all to do things that you either think you can’t, or just haven’t got round to doing. I will be sharing about all aspects of my life, including my home, family , friends, my faith in God and of course, not forgetting the fantastic Saffie dog!
