We have a very old garden bench that was starting to look, let’s say, a bit worse for wear (as you can see from the pics below).I don’t like to throw anything out, so I asked Mr H if he could put some screws in, to make it a bit more sturdy. Once he had done that it was time to paint! Now I usually use Autentico outdoor paint for things in the garden, but I only had grey and I wanted to paint the bench white. I couldn’t find anything water based, which is what I always prefer to use, so I ended up using a white wood and metal primer for indoor and outdoor use. It wasn’t the ideal thing to use, but once I have decided on doing something I can’t hang around! So I gave the bench a good sanding with an electric sander, brushed it down and then started painting. My lovely daughter had asked me when she came in from school, if we could do something together, so I asked her if she would like to help me paint the bench, to which she responded yes 😃 so we got straight to it. She was incredibly helpful and it was done in no time (which was good as it was getting very chilly). It could probably do with another coat and as I say it wasn’t the ideal paint to use, but the general look works, so I’m happy and I can cross another thing of the list for the party!
