Hey there wonderful people. How was everyone’s weekend? What did you all get up to? My weekend started superbly by going to a McMillan coffee morning with Steph from The Vintage Dove, at Britts from She Who Bakes. We met some really lovely people, it was great fun and all for charity – can’t do better than that right? As a result of the coffee morning, I have been given an interesting opportunity to make dog treats for some sweet wee doggies who are allergic to just about everything on the market. I’m looking forward to seeing how those turn out.
Mr H had to fly to California on Saturday morning (as he very often does). My daughter had been asking to go to Thorpe Park for ages so that’s what we did, left at 7.45am eughhh, but at least the sun was shining! I Reached a new level of achievement when my daughter said ‘mum you are well good at rides’! Nb for those of you who know the rides at Thorpe Park I went on colossus and nemesis 3 times! Just saying 😉 My son was playing football and looking after Saffie dog bless him and he even managed to do a few chores that I hadn’t even asked him to do!!! Which is strange as sometimes I can’t get him to do the jobs I do ask him to do – but hey I am NOT complaining.
Sunday was also busy. Walking Saffie, watching my son play a very exciting, nerve wrecking game of football, which they won 3-2 ⚽️ woohoo, then to the shops to buy the kids winter coats. And it just keeps on going this week. We are looking after my friends lovely little dog Archie (in the picture with Saffie) He’s a real sweetie and he and Saffie get on really well so all good, apart from the fact that they both follow me everywhere and are constantly battling for my attention. I took them both on a power walk this morning to try and wear them out which worked to a point. Then it was the endless list of appointment making for the kids and myself, you know how the list is never ending? Don’t forget the orthodontist or the opticians and then popping down the school to drop in the form that they forgot this morning etc – the life of a mum.
My mind is also buzzing with different ideas for Christmas i.e presents, crafts, things to sell. Which reminds me, I did make a start on Christmas ‘stuff’ last week by making my usual chutneys. When I say usual, I have actually only been making them for the last 3yrs. It was something I always wanted to try but kept putting off, thinking it would be too complicated. I want to encourage you if you haven’t tried it and would like to, it really is very simple, it can be quite time consuming with all the peeling and chopping, but still simple. I think it’s a lovely, inexpensive and thoughtful gift to give all sorts of people from family and friends to teachers as gifts. It’s all in the presentation, the way you label the jars and use ribbons and string.
Well that’s it from me today. Looking forward to hearing what the rest of you have been up to and any ideas you have for Christmas gifts! 😀
